Clack, clack, clack, Hecate takes up Her wooden staff and stirs Her cauldron brew. The flames rise higher, caressing the contours of the burnt, black metal, and the inky liquid begins to boil and steam.
“This is my storytelling brew,” Hecate intones, “It holds the tales of what was, what is and what shall be — from the first stirrings of life in the far distant past, to the unformed possibilities of the far distant future. To know my Path of She, you must seek out the four master tales, each a chapter in the unfolding of humanity, and a gateway into the lost fragments of your whole, holy self. These are original stories, the lost tales of She, before they were distorted and erased from your human knowing.
“You are not separate from my cauldron’s master tales; their essences echo within you — four lost tales of She, four lost elements of your whole, holy self. The tales of She have no power on their own. You must choose to open your hearts and knowing to their mysteries. You must decide whether you are ready to follow where they lead, and to play your part in returning my ways to the waking world. My time has come again, and together we can rise from the ashes and begin anew.”
